Meet Megha

Megha Rawat is a studio potter and the founder of The Mudslingers, a pottery studio dedicated to creating colourful, handcrafted stoneware for everyday living.

Although she studied commerce and went on to work in advertising and interior design, Megha's creative curiosity led her to explore many different paths before she eventually found pottery. From sketching endlessly as a child to seeking work that felt more meaningful and hands-on, creativity was always at the heart of everything she did.

Her introduction to pottery came almost by chance. What started as a friend's idea to learn ceramics in Auroville took an unexpected turn when the friend backed out. Megha decided to go ahead anyway, and that leap of faith eventually led her to Andretta, Himachal Pradesh, where she immersed herself in the craft.

Learning pottery demanded patience, persistence and years of practice, but it was also the first creative pursuit that truly stayed with her. The endless possibilities of clay continue to keep her engaged, and even today, she finds the greatest satisfaction in transforming a simple lump of clay into something that becomes part of someone's everyday rituals and home.

Today, through The Mudslingers, Megha creates pieces that are meant to be used every day - objects that bring colour, warmth and a little joy to ordinary moments.

The name The Mudslingers was Megha's sister's idea, inspired by childhood memories of the three siblings happily splashing about in the mud after the rain. It felt like the perfect name for a studio built around clay, creativity and the simple joy of making.
